Hunt the Yukon successfully
Blackstone Outfitters offers a variety of ways to enjoy your Northern Yukon hunt. We offer traditional horseback hunts, river float trips, and backpack hunts. Sturdy, warm cabins are scattered throughout the area and may be used as a hunting base or stopover point.
All our hunts are 10-day hunts. All have bush plane support, provided by Nahoni Air. And all have satellite communication. No matter what type of hunt you choose, you can be confident that the equipment and personnel will be first-rate.
Horseback trips
The camps used on the horseback hunts can range from comfortable mountain cabins, to high-quality tents that travel with the packhorses, or seasonal wall tents when appropriate. Our team of Yukon guides is ready with the right equipment for any challenge you face.
River Float Trips
Our river float trips are unique to our area. You will paddle or float an average of five to ten miles per day on a non-motorized raft. Pack your fly rod, or use ours, because the fishing on these trips is first class! Arctic grayling, found in all the rivers of our area, put up a sporting fight and make a welcome addition to the tasty shore lunches provided by our guides.
As you float, your camp travels with you. You may set up tent in one location for a couple of days or continue through some of the best hunting country our area has to offer. With several hundred miles of river to float on, with many different drainages, the float trips offer an unforgettable experience.
Nahoni Air
Blackstone Outfitters has an exclusive contract with Nahoni Air Ltd., a Transport Canada-approved air charter service. Their STOL (short takeoff or landing) airplanes are professionally maintained and designed with mountain flying in mind. Their pilots are seasoned mountain pilots with tremendous amounts of guiding and hunting experience.
Their aircraft are used to resupply groups that are hunting on horseback. They also drop off or pick up backpack hunters, and move hunters to new locations where different game species are located.
